Restore Function to Your Smile With Full Mouth Reconstruction

Laughing middle-aged couple with man hugging woman from behindSome patients have such severe damage to the hard and soft tissues of their mouths that they will require a combination of restorative and cosmetic procedures to restore function and aesthetics to their smiles. To repair broken, missing, or cracked teeth, correct malocclusions, address gum disease, or replace antiquated dental work, patients may be recommended for reconstructive dentistry. Dr. Mario M. Cabianca performs full mouth reconstruction therapy for patients in the Trail, Castlegar, and Nelson area. To learn more about the many procedures this treatment plan can include or to find out if you are a candidate, please contact our office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Cabianca.

The Treatment Process

Dr. Cabianca believes that patients who fully understand their treatment plans feel more comfortable throughout the process and make better choices regarding their dental health, so he will completely explain each step along the way. When you come in for your consultation, Dr. Cabianca will perform an intraoral exam and take images of your teeth, gums, and bone structure. Our office has the capabilities to take x-rays using periapical film for damage below the gum line, bitewing film to view the root of the teeth, and panoramic film to assess any issues with the jawbone or temporomandibular joints (TMJ).

Dr. Cabianca will take impressions of your teeth, which he will use to create a realistic cast of your mouth. He will mount the casts of your upper and lower jaw on an articulator that mimics the position of your jaw joints to diagnose any possible issues with the opening and closing of your mouth. He will then send these casts to a laboratory to create a diagnostic wax-up of how your teeth will look after the corrective and cosmetic procedures have been performed. Dr. Cabianca will use this wax-up as a blueprint for your treatment plan and make any adjustments necessary to help you achieve your smile restoration goals.
